Men’s Group – 1st and 3rd Tuesday Evenings:
The Skyview Men's Group has been meeting for many years. We meet the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month (taking summers off) at Paul Sauer's house. Our method has been to usually do a book study of a book with a Christian theme or select a book of the Bible. In the fall we did something different and listened to some tapes recorded during a men's retreat by a pastor on the topic of character. He used the lives of 3 Civil War soldiers (RE Lee, Stonewall Jackson, and Joshua Chamberlain) to illustrate his presentations.
He highly recommended a biography of Joshua Chamberlain by Alice Rains Trulock which we are studying now and have just finished Chapter 1. We read and discuss together and we many times have a lively meeting. We conclude our evenings with a time of prayer.
