Skyview Fellowship Communities
What is a “Fellowship Community?”
A Fellowship Community is a hospitality creating group; it is an “event-creating-group” for fostering hospitality within Skyview Presbyterian Church. In other words, a Fellowship Community does fun things together for the purposes of making new friends and cultivating friendships within the church. We also want to be a welcoming community to visitors to our church.
Is a Fellowship Community the same as a L.I.F.E. Group?
A Fellowship Community is different from a L.I.F.E. group (Learning, Involvement, Friendship and Extension). A LIFE group meets regularly (monthly or bi-monthly) for study, discussion, prayer and outreach. In contrast, a Fellowship Community is a fun-social events group, seeking to offer and foster hospitality.

Why do we have Fellowship Communities?
When a person or family seeks out a church, they are looking for certain things:
- Does this church share our personal views on God, salvation, scripture, music selection, etc.?
- Does this church offer ministries for all the members of our family?
- Are there places for us to serve here?
- Can we see ourselves and our family becoming an integral part of this church?
What is the Goal of a Fellowship Community?
Skyview Fellowship Communities have three hospitality goals:
- To create events for Skyview people to deepen their existing relationships with each other.
- To create events so that Skyview people will meet new people, get to know and become friends with each other. As a pastor, I want to know that all Skyview people are finding friends among us.
- This third goal is an outreach piece: to cause visitors to Skyview to think that because of a fellowship community event, "I can see myself and my family part of this church."
I hope you’ll consider joining in the fun, friendship and joy!
